IPL 2020 has come to its penultimate clash. it’s a clash between two teams that shows contrasting ways to make it to the playoffs. Iyer led DC started of the tournament pretty well with 7 wins in their first 9 matches. While Warner lead SRH had only three wins in their nine matches but their late resurgent run made sure they are just a step away from the finals.
Team Balance
In last few games, DC is trying hard to find its best 11 combination. Which Prithvi Shaw’s bat being silent and Rishabh pant not doing what he is capable of, DC are a bit out of shape. On the other hand, injury struck SRH have found their balance with the inclusion of Jason Holder, who came in as a replacement of Mitch Marsh. Also the bold move to keep Bairstow out of the playing 11 and fielding Saha as an opener has paid dividends.
Batting Unit
DC has been majorly dependent upon Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Marcus Stoinis who have done arguably good but they somehow have looked out of gas in the later half of their lineup . Though Axar showed some good hands in their last few outings,  DC will still look to add some firepower. Hetmyer may get a go here.
SRH have been very consistent in their past few games with Warner leading from the front being the top scorer of the team. He gets more than help from the likes of Williamson, Pande, Holder and Garg. Abdul samad and Jason holder provide them with the required middle lower order push. Saha’s selection is subjected to his injury, if he is fit to play he can do some serious damage in the powerplay overs.
Bowlers’ Game
DC is more comfortable in this department, with the fiery pace of Rabada and Nortje, the team has been able to chip in early wickets. Ashwin and Akshar choke the runs and have been providing timely breakthroughs. With their current forms they can make SRH’s batter run for their money.
SRH has belief in their young domestic players. Likes of Sandeep Sharma and Natarajan have proved their mettle with the bew ball and in the death overs. The spin duo of Rashid and Nadim has performed fairly good. Holder with the new ball has given the team a new energy. The extra bounce and swing he gets can trouble DC’s batsmen .
What to expect
As there was no dew in the eliminator played on the same ground, teams will look to strengthen their spin department. Team winning toss may like to bat first and put up a strong score. In any case the game is expected to be a thriller. Both the teams have looked solid and would like to throw in the hat to challenge the defending champions in the finals.
